1. Give your own idea/opinion about :
a. Culture
Culture is a lifestyle of a growing group of people and passed down from generation to generation covering language, religion, cuisine, social customs, music and art.
b. Interculture
Intercultural is something that occurs between people of different cultures including different religious groups or people of different national origins.
c. Cross Culture
Cross culture is a comparison between two or more cultures and different cultural areas from one country to another.
d. Multiculture
Multicultural are people from several races, religions, languages, traditions, or cultures that are different from one another.
2. Give one example of cultural conflict and offer the solution for its adjustment!
Answer : Cultural diversity often triggers conflict, for example, there is a clash of religious backgrounds between one country and another. In which country A does not allow someone outside the majority religion to serve as a leader which results in violence and strife in that country. This can still be overcome by instilling values of tolerance and mutual respect between religious communities. And don't make religion one of the barriers for someone to work in the political world.
3. How do you define :
a. Mosaic
Cultural mosaic is a mixture of ethnicities, languages and customs that are present in the people of a country. This is thought to support the idea of multiculturalism.
b. Melting Pot
Melting polt means there is a kind of melting of various cultures into one form in a pot. From a variety of materials into one, from a heterogeneous society that is becoming increasingly homogeneous. Here the assimilation process occurs from each part. Homogeneous is meant here, let's say we see it like mush. We try to input various spices, rice, coconut milk, finally it will take one form, namely porridge. That is what is meant by an increasingly homogeneous smelting polt.
c. Stereotype
Stereotype is a decision or judgment against someone who only judges based on the perception of the group in which that person can be categorized. Usually stereotypes have a positive or negative belief that is held towards a particular social group. For example, the A tribe, is known for its loud volume and high tone of voice, so there is a stereotype that the character is like that, loud and rough. In fact, even though most of them are like this, it is not certain that the people in tribe A we meet have such character, so it is not right for us to behave according to the existing stereotypes.
d. Prejudice
Prejudice is a decision or judgment made without knowing the actual relevant facts. This term refers to a judgment based on a person's race or other fields before having relevant information on which to base that judgment. Prejudice can take the form of feelings of dislike, anger, disgust, discomfort and even hatred. And in the end, prejudice can lead to discrimination in certain social groups.
